How a quote is shaped
Three things decide it, and you know all three
There is no list of extras to choose from, because there are no extras. A quote is built from the size of the firm and how much help you want at the start.
How many people log hours
The crew who record their own time against jobs, on their phones. This is the biggest part of any quote.
Who runs it in the office
The people who approve weeks, set the pay rules and run the reports. Most firms have one or two.
How much help you want to start
Some firms set themselves up in an afternoon. Others want their job register, clients and materials brought across for them. Either is fine; the quote says which.

Two minutes, and a real figure back
Answer what you can. We read every request ourselves, and reply with a price and an honest view of whether Costworks suits the way your week runs.
- No sales sequence. One reply from a person, with a figure in it.
- A straight answer on fit, including if it does not.
- A walk-through on request, using a week like yours.
Costworks is not a payroll bureau. It produces hours and gross pay for your payroll; PAYE, pensions and payslips stay where they are.
Thank you — that’s with us
We will come back to you with a figure and a straight answer on whether Costworks fits. Meanwhile, have a look round the features.
Pricing questions
Before you ask for a figure
Why is there no price on this page?
Because a ten-person workshop and a hundred-person contractor should not pay from the same table. Tell us about your firm and we will give you a real figure, in writing, rather than a starting price that grows once you have read the small print.
What shapes the price?
Mostly how many people record hours, then how many people in the office use it, and how much help you want getting set up — such as bringing an existing job register across.
Are some features only on a dearer plan?
No. There is one Costworks, and every firm has all of it: the crew’s app, approvals, pay rules, the payroll report and CSV, jobs, materials, EN1090 records, holiday and subcontractors.
Can we see it working before we decide?
Yes. Ask us and we will walk you through the app with a week like yours: your kind of jobs, your overtime rules and your week start day.
Is payroll included?
No. Costworks produces hours and gross pay for every person and exports them as a spreadsheet for your payroll bureau or software. PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and payslips stay where they are now.
Do we pay for updates?
Costworks runs in the browser, so improvements reach everybody as they ship, with nothing to install or update on anybody’s phone.
What if we leave?
Your hours and gross pay export as a spreadsheet, month by month, and every job’s audit report downloads as a PDF. Nothing is ever hard-deleted, so the records you had are the records you take.
