Changing the day your week starts

Monday to Sunday, or Saturday to Friday: the week is yours to set.

What it decides

The top of the Pay rules screen says which day the week starts on — for example Saturday, so each week runs Saturday to Friday. It decides:

  • the crew’s weeks on My week, and when they send one in;
  • the Timesheets board;
  • weekly overtime, if you have it switched on;
  • the payroll month, which is the whole weeks ending in it.

Changing it

  1. On Pay rules, click Change beside the day the week starts.
  2. Pick the new day and confirm.

Change moves the hours already recorded into the weeks they now belong to, in one go.

Sent or approved weeks block it. If any recorded hours are in a week that has been sent in or approved, nothing changes: those weeks are named, and need sending back from Timesheets first.

An example

Move from Monday-start weeks to Saturday-start weeks, and the week of Saturday 26 September 2026 runs to Friday 2 October. Hours already recorded on those days move into that week’s row, so they show on the crew’s My week and on Timesheets together, ready to send and approve.

The payroll month follows: it’s the whole weeks ending in the month, so with Saturday-to-Friday weeks August 2026 runs 1 to 28 August.

Picking a good moment

Best done before the crew start, or in a quiet week with nothing sent in. Tell the crew first, so nobody is surprised when My week starts on a different day. A pay-rule change always starts on the first day of a week, so no week is ever paid under two sets of rules.
